Create a blog post that debunks common myths about chiropractic care, using humor and engaging anecdotes to keep readers entertained.

Chiropractors vary widely in their methods of practice, so I’ll cite some myths that may, in fact, be true for some but not all.

You have to go to a chiropractor forever”.  This has always had some truth, but not for all chiropractors.  I well remember my mom in the early 1970’s traveling more than an hour to see a certain chiropractic for treatment of her migraine headaches.  Thankfully, she recovered and did not see him after that was resolved.

Nearly 20 years later I became a chiropractor, and I do not encourage patients to see me if they don’t have problems that don’t improve or resolve, quickly.

Chiropractors sell you packages of treatments”.  Most do not do this practice.  Instead, they treat you as you need.

Chiropractors are not real doctors”.  Chiropractors have an excellent education, comparable to medical doctors, BUT with emphasis on different subjects.  Medical doctors are going to know more about medications, and other specialties, but chiropractors will know more about radiology and musculoskeletal treatments.  There is considerable variance among doctors.

Chiropractors and medical doctors don’t cooperate or get along”.  This used to be quite true, but no more.  For a variety of reasons, many doctors and chiropractors now refer to each other as needed.  In fact, in an effort to be a better doctor, I have worked in orthopedics, physical medicine, physical therapy, and neurosurgery.  Since 1987, I have worked well with medical doctors, and many doctors now cooperate to better serve patients’ interests.

Chiropractors just crack your neck and back in two minutes and you’re done”.  Some do that, but most spend more time than that, and do many other treatments for patients.  In fact, I seldom “crack” necks and backs because I don’t think it is usually the best treatment for a problem.  My treatments average 30-60 minutes.

If you are considering seeing a chiropractor, I would suggest you ask for recommendations, or check out your local chiropractors’ Google reviews.  Read the reviews and see if you can find reviews from someone who had a problem similar to your’s.
