On this page, we provide some patient testimonials about their treatment experience.
I can’t tell you how many patients I have referred to you because it has been a life changer for me! I was living in absolute agony and contemplating what pain medicine I would need to take to get through my days and nights. Not to mention that I actually burned my skin with the ice packs I had to wear while working. I couldn’t feel the ice burning my skin because the back pain was so acute. It was both mentally and physically exhausting. You’re the best Dr. Castanet! I have continued my pursuit of contortion and aerial arts thanks to you. (No American Ninja Warrior quite yet)
–Michele C.
I came to Dr. Castanet six months after my car accident when I developed loud cracking noises in my neck upon turning as well as a sharp radiating pain in the middle of my upper back. I had already gotten x-rays done by a chiropractor as well as got a second opinion from an orthopedist and the diagnosis was not good: “severe degenerative cervical (neck) and lumbar disk disease”. I was told by one chiropractor that it was “the worst case he has ever seen” and subsequently tried to pressure me into a contract with the usual chiropractic treatment modalities with no guarantee that it would help relieve my pain. Something told me to search further and that’s when I remembered Dr. Castanet, who had successfully treated my carpal tunnel in my wrist many years ago utilizing green light laser therapy. I had remembered that he performed spinal decompression and, praying for a miracle, I came in for my first evaluation and treatment. Dr. Castanet was just as I remembered him to be – intelligent, compassionate and confident that he could take my pain away. So I gave it a try and by my third treatment, the radiating pain in my back dissipated to almost nothing. It has truly been the miracle I was looking for. My only words of advice to anyone with back or neck pain is not to waste any time with standard chiropractic treatments, PT, ultrasound or the like. Try the SpineMed decompression treatment by Dr. Castanet and wait for YOUR miracle to happen! It was the best decision I have ever made. I thank God for Dr. Castanet and for his dedication and hard work healing people in pain. You are AWESOME, Dr. Castanet!!!
–Nancy M., Lilburn
I had an ache in my left hip and buttock area and in the tailbone section. It was constant pain, burning and tingling that I could not find a solution to. The pain was 10 out of 10. My activities came to a standstill. Walking was painful unless I bent forward and put all my weight on my right side. Now I feel 99.9% better in my pain. My activities are returning and I can do things myself now. Now my pain is zero. I would recommend this treatment, by far, compared to other treatments. Maybe my story will help someone else.
–Thomas G
I was having lower back problems that restricted my activity and caused pain. I had nine epidural shots that helped for awhile, then stopped helping. I wasn’t able to walk very long comfortably, bend over or pick-up my grandchildren. I had pain during and after these activities. My pain was 8-9 out of 10 when I would do these activities. The spinal decompression treatment was relaxing. I feel great now with very little pain left. I’m 90-95% improved. Now my pain is an occasional 2-3 out of 10. I’m able to do my activities now with a lot less pain. I would absolutely recommend the treatment.
–Mary M
Before treatment sleeping, twisting and sitting was very painful. My quality of life definitely fell off a cliff. My MRI scan showed I had a herniated disc pressing against my sciatic nerve. I had back pain for several years and it got severe five months ago. The pain was a 9 or 10 out of 10. It was unbearable. I took anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxer medications and they didn’t seem to help. The surgeon recommended back surgery but I wasn’t ready for that. I was skeptical about this treatment because nobody mentioned it. I thought it was worth a try. The treatment has been great. Now most days I don’t feel anything. I can sit, lie down, twist again and life feels normal again. Before the treatment I had severe pain in my thigh and calf when sitting, driving, lying down, reading the paper and watching a movie. It’s been a great, painless procedure and very successful. I absolutely recommend the treatment to others without any reservation at all.
–Michael G
I had a lot of pain down my right leg and excessive numbness under my foot and my calf and I had very limited movement in my right leg. The pain and numbness was 6 or 7 out of 10. I felt depressed and miserable. I felt there was nothing else and I was so worried about having to opt for surgery which I definitely don’t have to think about now. Before this treatment I had three epidurals and physical therapy. I was on Lyrica and percoset for almost four months. Now I am feeling so much better. I feel like I’m definitely on the mend and the good news is I have no pain at all and I’m walking better and I have more flexibility. Now the pain is gone completely. I have no pain at all. The numbness is a 1 if it’s there and if I stand on my feet all day long it’s probably a 2. I have a lot more flexibility. I would definitely recommend the treatment to others
–Shanta K
I had pain shooting down my left leg and tingling in my leg. I could only walk on a hard surface for 5 minutes- then I had to stop and sit down. I had trouble sleeping on my left side. The pain was very bad. I have had pain off and on for about 10 years. Previous treatment included chiropractors. This last episode was the worst. It started after a golf outing about three months ago. Then I went on a cruise with my wife and I couldn’t walk but a few minutes before I had to sit down because of the pain. She told me I had to go see a surgeon when we got back. I was very skeptical of the spinal decompression treatment before I did it. I was very impressed after the first treatment. Last week I golfed for the first time in three months and I didn’t have any pain after 18 holes of golf. I would highly recommend this treatment
–Donald W, Grayson
I had my back pain for 6 or 7 months. I went to an orthopedic surgeon and he sent me to a physical therapist. I did physical therapy exercises for about 6 months but there didn’t seem to be much improvement. Then the orthopedist suggested I come here. I asked him about decompression treatment and he recommended you (Dr. Castanet). I had low back pain that did not go down the legs. The pain was not severe. It was aggravating but not debilitating. I couldn’t bend over as well and I did have limited movement. There seems to be quite a bit of improvement now. I can bend over and squat down and do the work I have to do. I’d say I’m probably 95% better. I have recommended the treatment to other people. I didn’t expect as much improvement as I really did get. I thought it was worth a try and it paid off.
–Charles W, Tucker
I was having lower back pain radiating to my legs and feet. I had the pain for 4 or 5 months. My MRI scan showed a herniated disc at L4-5. Initially the pain was a 10 out of 10, but then it dropped to a 6 or 7 out of 10 and it stayed right there. I could be up and walking for an hour or hour and a half. Then my feet would just start killing me. I had an epidural injection but it only helped a little bit. After treatment here I’m 100% better. I have 0 pain in my feet and legs and today after work my back pain is less than a 1 out of 10. I do a lot of lifting at work. I pretty much can do whatever I want now like cutting the grass, walk around the neighborhood. I am going back to the golf course this Saturday. I was in such pain that I was willing to try anything and it definitely has cured my problem. I definitely would recommend this treatment to others.
–Douglas D, Conyers
I found out I had two herniated discs and a third disc bulge. My MRI scan showed one was moderately large on the left at L2-3. The other was a left herniation at L5-S1, pinching my nerve and a bulge at L4-5. It was so painful I had to stop working, doing heavy construction work. The pain was very bad. I tried to go back to work twice but couldn’t. Medication didn’t help much and I didn’t want to do an epidural injection. My back pain before treatment was a 10 out of 10. My pain is now considerably better. My pain is now a 0, to a 1 or 2 sometimes. I can sit in a chair as long as I want. I can walk. I don’t have the excruciating pain that I used to have. I don’t have the right buttock pain anymore. I used to have the pain going down both legs. I was skeptical of the treatment because I didn’t know what it consisted of. I would definitely recommend the treatment to other people.
–Claudiu M, Duluth
I was having bad neck and head pains that were no longer tolerable. Before the treatment I was taking hydrocodone, Ultram and gabapentin daily. Now I stopped the hydrocodone and Ultram. Most of the time there is no pain with just the gabapentin. The pain was an 8 to 10 before the treatment with the medications. Now most of the time there is no pain with occasional pain which doesn’t stay. I would absolutely recommend the treatment to others.
–Gerard D, Decatur
I had pretty severe neck and shoulder pain in my right shoulder blade with tingling and numbness in my arm and hand. The pain would vary from a 5 to 10 out of 10. Now it’s improved dramatically. I feel about 90% better after treatment- sometimes more, sometimes less. I was taking 800 mg of ibuprofen 4 or 5 times daily on a regular basis. Now I’m not taking anything right now. I had three disc herniations. I would definitely recommend the treatment to others.
–Dr. Brian G, Lilburn
I had lower back pain and numbness on my left foot and tingling on my left thigh for over a year. I was hospitalized for four days and received four epidural shots but the pain recurred. I have a degenerated disc and edema of my vertebra. The treatment was very good. The foot numbness improved quickly. My back and leg now feels normal and I feel close to 100% better. I would definitely recommend the treatment to others.
–Carlos M, Alpharetta.
I had pain in my lower back for more than 5 years. When I walked it went down my legs and made it difficult for me to walk, stand, do housework and I had to give up a catering business. The pain was 9.5 out of 10. I tried chiropractic, physical therapy and exercises. My MRI scan showed herniated discs. It was hard to believe it was doing any good because you don’t feel anything during treatment but soon after starting I felt a difference and could walk longer without pain. I now do a walking program for a whole hour without any pain. I feel 90 to 95% better now. I was skeptical of the treatment and this was my last hope. The other testimonials sounded so much like mine. I tell others to give it a try. The most hopeful thing you said to me was that, “Its just physics”. That statement made me feel like it’s a law of nature- it will work.
–Noelle R, Lithonia
I had lower back and hip and right leg pain. The pain was a 10 out of 10. I had the pain for 8 months. My MRI showed a bulging disc on my right side. I couldn’t sit for a long time. I couldn’t walk too long and it interfered with all my activities including cleaning, sitting and walking. Now I am 100% better and can all my activities- I’m normal again. I used to be sad and down and in pain. Now I can do my activities again. I recommend the treatment to others and have recommended it to my mother.
–Kimberly T, Conyers
I was having severe low back pain that caused me not to be able to stand for a long time. It was also causing me pain when I sat down in a chair for a long time. I couldn’t stand or walk over 10 minutes. After that the pain would set in and my back would lock up. I had pain medication from my doctor and went to see a chiropractor. Then I had an MRI and I found out that I had a herniated disc that was pressing on a nerve. After the treatment, I have 0 pain now. I have no pain at all so I feel great. Walking, sitting and standing is back to normal now. I can walk 1 or 2 miles. When I sit it doesn’t hurt anymore. I feel like I’m back to normal. I wasn’t skeptical because I was in so much pain I was willing to try anything to avoid back surgery. If you’re suffering from any type of back pain I would say definitely try this procedure. Back pain is definitely no joke. I couldn’t comprehend what other people with back pain were going through. Now I know what they’re going through.
–Joanne D, Stone Mountain
I had lower back pain and pain in the buttocks and down both legs. I couldn’t stand up straight for very long. Today it’s much, much better. I can get around much better than I have in quite some time. I’m at least 85 to 90% better since I started the treatment. I was skeptical about the treatment but I would rather try this than surgery. My improvement was a gradual thing- it wasn’t overnight. Now I can bend and stay bent over, like if I am working on a project. I’m glad I did the treatment. I would recommend the treatment whole-heartedly for lower back pain.
–Baskin C, Stone Mountain
I had an acute lumbar strain and then, later, an MRI scan which showed a herniated disc contacting the right nerve root. It was a sharp, shooting pain on the right side, just constantly, constantly down my right leg to my foot. It was constant, day in and day out. It started September of 2006- more than a year ago. I had physical therapy and anti-inflammatory medicines and saw a chiropractor and then I had 3 epidural injections. The epidurals helped very minimally and very short-lived. I have a high pain tolerance. It was an annoying, stabbing, pesky pain down my right leg. I was so used to it; I had modified the way I did all my activities. Honestly, at first I was skeptical of the decompression treatment because I had done all the other treatment options that I was aware of. I went online and had read some of the testimonials. I figured I had nothing to lose as long as it couldn’t hurt me. I think after the first five treatments I noticed a slight bit of improvement but it was still annoying. It wasn’t until I had a good 20 treatments under my belt that I noticed real improvement. I kind of plateaued at about 15 to 20 treatments. Now the pain is a 0 in my low back and an occasional 0.05 in my right leg. Now, after 28 treatments, I am upwards of 95% better but I haven’t yet started to do all my normal activities, so I’m still being careful.
–Amy G, Tucker, GA
My back hurt all the time and my left hip. I’ve had the problem for 10 or 12 years but the last couple of years it’s really gotten severe. I’ve tried chiropractic, epidurals and acupuncture- they didn’t help the back pain. I had a couple of bulging discs and degeneration and a lot of compression (five bulging discs and nerve compression). I’m just tickled to death. I can’t believe how well the treatment has done. Where has this treatment been all this time? It seems like this treatment ought to be a common thing. I know that compression on the back has been going on since Adam and Eve. I used to walk about 5 miles a day up until about two years ago. Then I couldn’t walk anymore. Before treatment, I could only walk for about a block and then I’d have to sit down. It felt like I was carrying a 100 pound sack on my back and hips. The pain was about an 8 out of 10. Now I don’t have any pain. Now I’m back to walking two miles and easing my way back up to five miles a day. My wife is tickled to death about my improvement. I sure recommend anyone to come and try it.
–James R, Lilburn
I hurt my back in an industrial accident. The pain made my legs collapse from under me. I had a previous epidural and facet injection. The epidural didn’t help. The facet injection helped for a short time. My wife had spinal decompression treatment previously and it helped her. I was still somewhat apprehensive but the treatment was pleasant. I was able to stop the medications I was taking before the treatment. It’s done wonders for me and I would recommend the spinal decompression treatment to anyone.
–James W, Duluth
I was having severe burning pain in my back. I had a right-sided disc herniation with pinching of the L5 nerve root. My pain was often a 10 out of 10 before the treatment. It happened when I fell while roller skating 2 years ago. I had an epidural and that helped but the pain returned. The first time I came to Backstrong I was crying in the waiting room because of the pain and I didn’t know if the treatment would help. After treatment of spinal decompression I feel great! I would tell people to try this treatment.
–Louise D, Stone Mountain
I have had low back pain for over twenty years. I am now pain free! It’s the first time in twenty years that I can wake up and say I actually have no pain! I can do everything that I could do before. It used to be that activities like mopping would cause excruciating pain. I would do my regular activities and I would tell myself, “It’s going to hurt, and I would prepare for it. I was skeptical because I tried other treatments and they didn’t work. I was surprised that the spinal decompression worked and that it worked so quickly and that it’s lasting! I would tell people it’s worth trying.
–Vickie H, Decatur
Before treatment the pain was an 8 or 9 out of 10 in severity. I had sciatic pain that went down my right hip and leg. It felt like it was out of joint. I couldn’t vacuum without stopping several times because it hurt my back so bad. Now I can vacuum the whole house without stopping or hurting- no problem. It hurt when I leaned over to wash dishes. Now it doesn’t bother me. It doesn’t bother me to exercise anymore like it used to. The treatment was comfortable. I am 90 to 95% better now. I would recommend the treatment to others and I already have.
–Mary F
I could barely walk. I could only walk a couple steps and then I’d have to lean against the wall or over the counter. I was like that a couple of weeks. I tried chiropractic and another doctor. I was taking a pain killer three times a day. The pain was over 10 out of 10. If I wasn’t retired, I would have missed work. Now it’s a new world. I’m 99.9% better. I’m doing everything now. I went running yesterday, which was my primary goal, and it didn’t hurt me. Now the pain is 0.1 out of 10. I would definitely recommend the treatment to others- there’s no doubt about it. You’ve changed my life around.
–Walter M
I was in very bad pain from the low back to the left foot. The pain was 10 out of 10 and I had it for a month. I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t sleep at night or move in the bed and almost couldn’t walk. With the treatment I felt better each time and now I can exercise and do all my activities. I am now 95% better.
–Daniel M
I had a herniated disc that was causing pain in my left thigh and lower back. On a scale of 0 to 10 it was a 10. Initially I couldn’t stand up straight without excruciating pain and I was pretty much bedridden. I had to miss days at work due to the pain. I had been to a chiropractor and then my doctor. Now the pain is usually 1 out of 10. Sometimes I have some throbbing. I am at least 90 to 95% better now. I would recommend the treatment to others.
–Sandra W
I had lower back and leg pain for over four years. I was taking pain killers and muscle relaxers. I lost count of the epidurals I’ve had. The drugs didn’t help much and the epidurals wore off too soon. I got on the internet searching for something better. I found Backstrong. This has been an answer to my prayers. My back pain is gone. I have the same pain in my neck. I’m getting my neck done next. I will definitely recommend spinal decompression to everyone with this kind of pain.
–Sharon, Hampton
I was suffering a lot of pain in my shoulder and elbow and my hand was tingling and going cold and my fingers were going cold. I wasn’t able to sleep. This went on for months despite all the treatments that I had already done. I tried chiropractic and deep massage. Then I went to an osteopath but I still couldn’t sleep and was still in pain. The pain was 7 or 8 out of 10 and I couldn’t do my job at times. And I couldn’t socialize and go out to dinner without squirming around. The treatment has been awesome. It’s been great. I sleep at night now and don’t experience any pain in my arm anymore. I’m not on any medication anymore and haven’t been for several weeks. It’s been really, really good. I recommend it highly to anybody that is experiencing pain in their arm. I think this treatment should be available everywhere. I feel 90% better.
–Stewart S
My MRI scan showed I had an extruded herniated disc at L4-5 compressing the nerve root. My nurse friend saw it on the MRI and was surprised how bad it looked. Just before I came into Backstrong for treatment, the pain was so intense I hadn’t slept in two nights. After the third treatment here I was able to sleep through the night. My low back went down my left leg to my toes and the pain was constant. Before treatment the pain was more than 10 out of 10. Now it’s about a 2 out of 10. The pain left gradually. I don’t know if I’ll ever get 100% better but this is quite a difference from when I came here. It is so much better. I have done 12 treatments but I can’t finish the treatment here because I am moving away. Dr. Castanet recommends I finish the treatment wherever I move. I would definitely recommend the treatment to others.
–Brenda R, Stone Mountain
I had very debilitating back pain making it almost impossible to get in and out of a chair or walk or do normal activities around the house- it was horrible. It got really, really bad during the last 4 or 5 years but I’ve had it a good 30 years. I’ve had chiropractic. I’ve seen many orthopedist surgeons who wanted to do surgery which I would not subject myself to. I did have some shots in the spinal area- three different series- until my legs went numb and I couldn’t get off the table and I thought I was going be crippled by that. So I never want back to that again. This decompression treatment has been absolutely awesome. The MRI showed 4 herniated discs. The treatment’s been absolutely, positively the best relief I’ve ever gotten. It’s practically all gone. No more pain- once in a while I get a little catch but nothing that’s going to keep me from doing what I want to do. It’s wonderful. It’s nice to have your life back after all that time. I was not skeptical of the treatment because I knew it was the last option left to me. It was either being crippled, and not being able to do what I wanted to, in the kind of pain I was in or surgery, which I was not going to do. My back reacted immediately. I had almost immediate relief from it. It was wonderful. There was no question. After the first treatment I knew it was working. Before treatment I had extreme pain down my legs. It was part of the reason I couldn’t walk- it was horrible. I certainly would recommend the treatment to others. It’s so wonderful to be able to get relief from something like this without surgery and invasive procedures. Before treatment the pain was a 15 out of 10. After treatment I’m down to a 1-2 once in a while- most of the time it’s a zero. It’s wonderful. It’s impossible to describe it. It really is.
–Irene F, Jackson
I was having low back pain and pain in both hips and legs. Dr. Castanet said I had a low back problem but he also diagnosed a separate hip problem that he saw on the x-rays, for which I needed to see an orthopedist. He said he could help me with my back pain and the part of my leg pain that was coming from my back but I needed to see the orthopedist for my hip joint problem. I had been to a neurosurgeon who prescribed medications but he didn’t say anything about my hip problem. My MRI showed a herniated disc and degenerated disc at L5-S1. After treatment I feel a whole turnaround. My back is 80 to 90 to 100% better. I think the treatment experience has been good and I would recommend it to others.
–Ashley S, Duluth
I was having extreme lower back pain. It was a greater severity than I had ever had before. It went down the left leg and the pain was a 9.5 out of 10. I was using crutches. I was so desperate for help I wasn’t skeptical. Before treatment I couldn’t even sleep. I was sleeping humped over an ottoman chair just to try to take pressure off my lower back. I couldn’t even sleep in my bed. I couldn’t even walk. I was crawling around my house. I got immediate relief on the spinal decompression table while I was being decompressed. As soon as the decompression started, while I was on the table, there was no pain in my lower back. Since the treatment finished a year ago I’ve been great. I’ve been careful to use good body mechanics. I’m a musician so I lift amplifiers and speakers. I lift with my legs and not my back but it’s been a year now since I had the treatment and my back is doing great. I believe in the treatment so much that I just returned today for the first time to do a booster. I want to be proactive and prevent going back to that herniation. I’m trying to be proactive instead of reactive. I can do anything now. I can lift, push, jump, lifecycle. I’m very happy.
–Mark J, Buford
I was referred to Dr. Castanet by my primary physician, so I wasn’t skeptical. He sent another patient to Dr. Castanet and she did well. My primary physician definitely thought it would help me and it has. I had back surgery 7 months ago to remove a disc fragment. The surgery helped for a while. Then it continued to get worse. After surgery I had Lortab medication, an epidural and facet and hip injections. They didn’t help. I tried a spinal cord stimulator but didn’t like it- the feeling is very unpleasant. After 7 treatments of spinal decompression so far, I feel much better than I did to begin with. I feel about 50-60% better so far. I can walk better and sit longer. My balance is better and my pain is not nearly as bad as it was. My pain was 9 or 10 out of 10 in the right buttock. Now it’s a 4 or 5 out of 10. My right leg was a 6 out of ten and involved the whole leg. Now it’s a 5 out of 10 in only some parts of the leg, not the whole leg. And I am taking less medication now. I would recommend the treatment to others with spine pain.
–Elsie H, Conyers
I was having back problems and deteriorated discs. On a scale of 1 to 10, my pain was a 10-12 out of 10. I’ve had that pain for a long time- 32 years. I’ve had tens units. I’ve had injections. I’ve had all kinds of medications for it. I’ve been to pain clinics. I felt relief after the first week of treatment. Now I have no pain in my back whatsoever. I had two herniated discs. I have fibromyalgia pain but the leg pain from my back is gone. I am able to stand and wash dishes now. We helped my daughter clean out her garage this past weekend. We spent four days doing that and before I would not have been able to withstand anything like that. I couldn’t wash dishes. I couldn’t vacuum the rug. Our bedroom is upstairs and I’m able to walk up the stairs a couple of times a day now. Alot of nights I didn’t go upstairs and go to bed- I slept on the couch. Today I feel 100% better. I am always recommending the treatment to others.
–Jimmie J, Decatur, GA
I have had low back pain with a sciatic component on and off for 4 or 5 years, actually up to a decade if you count the beginning. I walk a lot at work and it inhibited my ability to walk around and up and down stairs at home so it had a significant impact on my lifestyle. I have improved about 95% plus with decompression treatment. I have had steroid injections in the past and that would resolve the pain for a short period of time and then it would come back. But after the decompression treatment I feel 95 plus % improvement. I researched decompression on the internet and my expectations were high that it would help. I have recommended the treatment to over a dozen people at this point. I worked at a holistic clinic with a physical medicine doctor before and we worked with back pain patients but I hadn’t heard much about decompression treatment. I think this decompression treatment should have a prominent role in the treatment of back and neck pain patients.
–Alawode O, M.D., Tucker
I have had recurring back pain off and on for two to three years. I could go months without pain and then have an incident of pain that was 9 or 10 out of 10. Then it would get better over two or three weeks. This recent episode happened when I was lifting luggage and twisted the wrong way. It was a very painful 9 or 10 initially and I couldn’t stand up straight. It hurt to walk. It hurt to sit. My only relief came from lying down. I was a little skeptical of decompression treatment at first. But I was really willing and able to try something, anything since past treatments haven’t really proved helpful in the long term. The staff here has been really great and professional and I’m optimistic that it’s going to be helpful going forward. Right now I’m really pain-free. At the time I was going through the treatments I was still in some pain. It wasn’t clear at all times whether the pain was part of the healing process or if it was being caused by the treatments but eventually the pain went away and the treatments continued without any pain so I took that as a good sign that I was on the right path. I was not 100% convinced after the first couple of treatments but I would say that about halfway through the treatments that the pain was starting to go away altogether and I thought I had turned a corner at that point. Time will tell- I’m optimistic and I’m currently pain-free. I’m looking forward to getting back to my regular activities and testing it out. Golf is a passion of mine and I’m not willing to give it up. Before the treatment was finished I resumed play and I haven’t had any problems so far.
–J. B, Decatur
I could not walk on my left leg from my left buttocks down. There was extreme pain and there was no way I could alleviate it- even lying down. It was excruciating pain. On a level of 0 to 10 it was a 15 or 16. I couldn’t do anything. I couldn’t drive or sit in a chair or walk. I would lie down on a couch trying anything to make it better. It was unbearable. I was taking a pain medication but that wasn’t helping much. I had chiropractic treatment and two cortisone shots. I had to use crutches. I didn’t dare use the left side of my body in any way, shape or form. It was a nightmare. Now it’s a 1/2 out of 10. I’m basically 100% better. There’s just no comparison with where I’m at now and where I was.
–Ken T, Stone Mountain
I had an ache in the low back and shooting pains into both legs- mostly the left leg. The pain was 8 out of 10. I tried a chiropractor, acupuncturist, neurosurgeon and 2 epidural injections. I didn’t want surgery and was tired of taking pain medicine. I saw an ad with many testimonials. I went to the website and decided to take one last chance with this treatment. I had bulging discs pinching my sciatic nerve. It was so depressing. Now I have zero leg and buttock pain. I am at least 95% better now. If I lift too heavy now, my back may be a little achy. You have to hang in there because it was over 20 visits before I got better. It’s a miracle. I am retiring this year and hope to travel now. I would recommend the treatment to others.
–Teresa H, Duluth
I could not stand for any length of time. I could not walk that far without my low back hurting and the sciatic pain, like a lightening strike, going down my leg to the foot and burning all the way down. My foot and toes and ankle were numb. It was very, very, very painful and there was nothing I could do to get it to stop. I tried lying on the floor and that would help but you can’t cook a meal lying on the floor. And you can’t get dressed lying on the floor. It’s just so incapacitating. There are things you have to do like normal household activities and personal activities and you just cannot do it lying on the floor with the legs up on a couch or table. The pain was 10 out of 10. Now it’s a 0 to 1 and it’s not a pain, but soreness once in a while. I was taking Neurontin and Vicoden and, occasionally, a muscle relaxer because those were the only things that could help the pain. I stopped taking those within 7 to 10 days after starting treatment. That’s why I am a very strong advocate of this treatment- because it got rid of the pain. I’m a registered nurse. I am now 95 to 100% better. I would recommend the treatment to others.

I was having pain all the time in my lower back, legs and feet. Somedays it was a 4 or 5 out of 10; other days an 11 out of 10. I was taking Gabapentin and Motrin three times a day. I’ve had back pain since 1972. Now my back is great. It’s not on my mind constantly like it was before. Now there isn’t any pain. I’m 1,000% better.
–Greg G, Stone Mountain
I was hurting in the back and leg. It was difficult to walk and bend. The pain was more than 10 out of 10 and went down the leg. I don’t have any pain any more. I am feeling great because I can concentrate on my work. Today I’m feeling 100% comfortable. I no longer take any medications. I was able to avoid the injections. I have recommended the treatment to others.

For an extended period of time my lower back was hurting. I could hardly stand up straight and it was difficult to walk and it was excruciating pain and continuous. But after the decompression treatments the pain disappeared and has not come back. I have tested my back, I’ve worked and done things, I’ve carried things and layed flooring, done woodwork and I have no low back pain whatsoever. It is absolutely unbelievable. I just could not believe it. It’s absolutely fantastic. The pain was 9 out of 10 before treatment. It was almost debilitating. In fact there were a couple of days when I had difficulty getting out of bed and standing at all. The pain went down into my calf. I had the pain to one degree or another for 7 or 8 years, but it got severe 2 to 3 months before the treatment. I would absolutely recommend the treatment to others. I had heard of spinal decompression but to actually experience it and to see what it does- I would absolutely recommend it to anyone with back pain.
–Vince Z, Lilburn
I didn’t know what was going on. I thought I was dying. I felt so much pain that I was scared. I was terrified. I’ve never had pain like that. The pain was 10+ out of 10. I was hunched over and twisted to the right with a cane. I had to take five weeks off of work and my mom had to take care of me. She had to fly into town. At first I was on five pain medications, then I had steroids and then an epidural. That’s when the spine surgeon stated that I would definitely need surgery. I did not want surgery. The first couple of treatments with decompression I was expecting a miracle and that’s not real. But soon my mom started to notice I was standing straighter and she would notice improvement sooner than me. Soon I noticed little things I could do better. Now, oh my gosh, I’m so glad I found this and I’m glad I did not listen to the other doctor and just go right into surgery. I was going to get surgery just out of fear. I feel alot better now. I am doing the things that I used to do. The pain is now a zero out of ten. I pretty much can do everything I used to do. I’m wearing my usual shoes again. I don’t use my cane. I’m about 98% better now. I’ve already told six people and all your cards are gone. I feel like this should not be a secret. Everyone needs to know about this. In the surgeon’s office I felt like telling everyone. I would recommend the treatment to others.

I’ve been experiencing back pain about 3 or 4 years. The last couple of years it’s been worse and the doctors told me, “It’s only going to get worse”. I’ve got three herniated discs. And they were right. Every time it gets worse and worse. This last time it got so bad I couldn’t get out of bed for at least two weeks. It took me about two months to get back to work and I was still in alot of pain. I worked for a few weeks and then it got worse again. I was told by a doctor, “Don’t do back surgery until you can’t stand the pain.” I was told the only things I could do for my back were pain meds, epidurals or surgery. I called to look for an epidural and I found Backstrong Clinic. I came and within a week the back and leg pain went away completely- I didn’t have any pain at all. It’s been about two weeks now and I feel it just a little bit- that’s it still there- but there’s no pain at all. I’m an electrician and I crawl around houses and when I do I tell myself, “this is going to be the test”. I crawl over pipes and all kinds of places and I crawl out and there’s no pain! I had pain down the sciatic nerve all the way down to the top of my left foot and the back of my calf. I was all bent over and twisted when I came for treatment. I couldn’t stand up straight. I was told by another doctor that only medications, epidurals and surgery were my options. I forgot what it was like to not have any pain. I think people are crazy if they don’t try this treatment. I was all twisted and couldn’t stand up straight. It kept me in the bed for weeks and I couldn’t work. Doctors had me on all kind of medicine. Now I don’t take any medicine at all. I was skeptical of the treatment but when you’re facing surgery it made sense to me.
–Guy B, Fairburn, GA
I was having lower back pain that went down my left leg. It was an 8-9/10 and had been like that for two to three months. I was bent over and crooked when I started treatment here. The treatment was very simple and not painful at all. In a few sessions the pain was going away. I was taking 2-3 hydrocodone daily. Now the pain has been gone for a week or so. If you want relief this is the way to go. I would recommend the treatment. I couldn’t play with the kids or lift before the treatment. Now I can play with my kids.
–Thomas W, Doraville, GA
I came here because I had, probably, a pinched nerve because I had really severe sciatica down my leg and in my hip I had some pain. I had been to other places but nothing was really helping me so I came here. Someone suggested using the decompression table. I had another problem that I went to the Mayo Clinic for, but no one could find out what it was and no one could help me. But this treatment has helped it. When I would sit down or lie down for a length of time, when I would get up my leg would just be stiff and I couldn’t even get up straight, and it would take me 3 or 4 minutes to get straight up, and it would take 5 minutes before I could really walk good. Now since I’ve had this treatment, I get up completely straight and I can walk within a minute or 30 seconds. That’s what I’m really happy about too. I still have a little bit of a problem but it’s helped tremendously. I had that problem about 4 years. I had all kinds of MRI’s and went to the Mayo Clinic and nobody seemed to know what was wrong with me. I think this is a great treatment because it has helped. The Mayo clinic said I had to live with it. They didn’t try to see if there was anything that could help it. The back pain and sciatica is 100% better. The stiffness in the leg is 60% better. I would definitely recommend the treatment to others. I was ready to try anything to see if it would help me. The treatment made sense to me, to stretch the spine. I no longer take medications. I was taking Ibuprofen several times a day. I had previous back surgery.
–Betty S, Tucker, GA
When I came here I had low back and leg pain and trouble going up the stairs. My MRI scan showed a protruding disc in my low back. I did an epidural injection and it didn’t help. My pain was an 8/10 and I was on pain medicine daily. This treatment is the nearest thing to a miracle I’ve seen in my time. I tell anyone I highly recommend it. It was well worth it. The service here was excellent- I can’t find words to describe it. It was very professional, efficient and prompt.
–Harry C, Decatur
I have scoliosis and I was having alot of severe, lower back pain and muscle spasms. I have had the problem since 2006. I’ve done physiotherapy and rehab and worked with my athletic trainer. They helped for a while. Since doing this treatment. I felt better after the first treatment here. I usually have back pain when I sit up in the morning. Now I’m not having any pain in the morning. I’m not having pain anymore. I would say this treatment is very, very, very beneficial.
–Nikitris D, Rex
I was having lower back and right leg pain down into the foot. I had a herniated disc pushing on a nerve. The pain was a constant 10 out of 10. I had the problem for three months before I came to Backstrong. This treatment was the easiest thing I ever did. You hardly feel it working but you feel the results. I had chiropractic and it didn’t help. This treatment helped 95%. I am a diesel mechanic and missed about six weeks of work. I am back to work now and enjoying it. I recommend the treatment and am trying to get two friends in here now for treatment. Before treatment I couldn’t bend, stand prolonged, sit or lay down comfortably. Now I can do it all.
–Jerome G, Stone Mountain
I was having excruciating pain in my hip and down my leg to my ankle. The pain was 8 to 10 out of 10 in severity. I was taking anti-inflammatory medications without any relief. The x-rays showed two degenerated discs. The treatment didn’t help right away. As time went on the pain improved. Now I only occasionally have a little soreness in the hip- nothing severe; maybe a 2 or less out of 10. Overall, I feel 99 and ¾% better.
–Joanne B, Canton, GA
I couldn’t walk. I was having sciatica in both legs and I was just about not able to walk. My MRI showed bulging discs at L-3-4-5. My pain was excruciating in the sciatic nerves. I had therapy and had been to several neurosurgeons and pain management doctors. Previous therapy aggravated it and I had four injections. They helped for about three or four days and then I had the same pain again. I had the pain for more than a year. This treatment has allowed me to walk again and now I have no left leg pain and my right leg is less than 1 out of 10. They’re at least 90% better. I definitely recommend the treatment to others. It’s the best treatment I’ve ever done for my back.
–James W, Gainesville
I was having pain in my left leg that was a 10 out of 10 coming from my sciatic nerve going into my left foot. I was very limited and had constant pain when I walked. I now feel 97% better. My mobility is very good. I can walk 4 and one half miles a day now without pain. I would definitely recommend the treatment to others
–Joel B, Morrow
I had low back pain with spasms and I was hospitalized twice, including the week before I started treatment. I travel a lot for my work and couldn’t after this happened. My MRI scan done during my hospitalization indicated one or two herniated discs. My wife found out about this treatment and I decided to try it. I was ABSOLUTELY skeptical about the treatment before I started. Now I have returned to tennis activities and travel extensively again. I’m not 17 years old again, but I am a lot better than I was. I would very much recommend this treatment to other people.
–Parke K
I had low back pain that radiated down my left leg. I had pain, tingling and numbness down the buttock and leg that was between a 6 to a 9 out of 10. It happened when I fell and landed on my behind on the cement. I had the left leg pain for 15 years and thought it was a knee problem. Over the years I had about 4 epidural injections and they lasted about a week. I did spinal decompression treatment. I would recommend the treatment 100% because after 15 years my left leg pain is gone! It’s a miracle for me.
–Marie W, Lithonia
I was having muscle spasms and pain in the left shoulder, neck and arm. I’ve had neck and shoulder pain before but this was the worst and went down my arm for the first time. The pain was sometimes excruciating. The only relief I got was standing and raising my left arm over my head. When I drove, I had to raise my arm and hang onto the handle above my driver’s side door. I had physical therapy before and I was taking medications but I wasn’t getting much relief. The injury happened when I was climbing a ladder. I had spinal decompression treatments and I don’t have a problem anymore, except for some occasional tightness but no more pain in the arm. I would definitely recommend the treatment to others.
–Lucius F
I had low back pain from an injury about 4 years ago. I had two herniated discs. One was extruded. I re-aggravated it about one month ago picking up a suitcase. I had excruciating pain. It was an 8 or 9 out of 10 before treatment. I tried physical therapy which hurt more. I was very skeptical about the treatment. After treatments my pain is gone. It’s done miracles for me because I can sit, walk and stand up straight. I have recommended the treatment to others.
–David K, Flowery Branch
I was doing manual labor in the basement and hurt my back. I never experienced low back pain like this before. I couldn’t stand up straight. The pain went down my right thigh and calf and was killing me. It was horrendous. I was taking Flexeril and pain killers and it got worse and worse and I couldn’t sleep. Fortunately, I found Backstrong and I have to say that when I walked out of there after the first time, and I could stand up straight- that was unbelievable! I’m back to playing tennis now. I’m 100% better. I would recommend the treatment.

Physician Testimonials
I was amazed at the results. I was astounded. I have now treated hundreds of patients including myself and am continually impressed with the results.
–Dr. Donald Bailey, M.D., Pain Management
As an orthopedic surgeon and peer reviewer, I see many patients who are significantly worse after back surgery. In many cases I believe that if they had been treated vertebral axial decompression before surgery they would have resolved completely.
–Dr. Howard Berkowitz, M.D., Orthopedist
The implementation of vertebral axial decompression in Mexico has revolutionized the therapeutic approach to patients with lumbar spine pathology.
–Dr. Jose Antonio Alcala, M.D., Orthopedist
For the last 7 years I have been burdened with increasing back pain. Before we had limited options for treating acute and chronic back pain- all of which basically treat the symptoms, not the underlying problems. I did the full treatment and I am virtually pain-free. This procedure works. I believe in it so much that I’m now the medical director here.
–Dr. Jack Dodge, M.D., Orthopedist
Vertebral axial decompression is a more effective treatment than surgery, is safer treatment than surgery, has fewer side effects than surgery and may have beneficial side effects.
–Dr. David Duncan, M.D., Anesthesiology
I have been very impressed with the effectiveness of vertebral axial decompression. Patients should strongly consider vertebral axial decompression treatment prior to undergoing any aggressive surgical procedure.
–Dr. Alan Halperin, M.D., Internist
I have found vertebral axial decompression to be my most effective tool in the treatment of low back pain due to discogenic causes, facet syndrome and failed back surgery syndrome.
–Robert Odell, M.D., Anesthesiology
Manipulation, acupuncture, steroid injections, anti-inflammatory agents and muscle relaxants all fall short of addressing the underlying problems associated with intervertebral disc lesions. Vertebral axial decompression should be utilized in all patients who are poor surgical candidates and before surgery is undertaken except in the emergent conditions.
–Dr. Gustavo Ramos, M.D., Neurosurgery
The addition of vertebral axial decompression to my practice has been a most impressive and rewarding experience…..treats the underlying etiology of common causes of acute/chronic low back pain, and not just the symptoms…..should be tried prior to undergoing surgery in all chronic low back pain patients who meet the inclusion/exclusion criteria.
–Dr. Gerald Weiss, M.D., Neurologist
